Protect Yourself From Job Scams

LMA Recruitment Singapore has been made aware of scammers impersonating our employees. These fraudsters may contact candidates with fake job offers or attempt to acquire sensitive information, such as bank details, under the pretense of salary processing. These scams can occur through emails, phone calls, text messages, WhatsApp, or Telegram.

What We Will Never Ask From Our Candidates

Request Payment or Financial Information

Scammers may try to ask candidates for money, supposedly for “processing fees,” “training,” or other recruitment-related purposes.

  • LMA Recruitment Singapore will never ask for any payment at any stage of the hiring process.
  • We will not request bank account numbers before employment officially begins.

Request Sensitive

Personal Credit or Financial Data

Legitimate recruitment processes do not require candidates to share personal financial scores.

  • We never ask for your credit score or other financial history.
  • You should be cautious if someone requests confidential personal information unrelated to your employment.

Force Paid Training or Extra Services

Some fraudsters may try to sell fake training programs, “background checks,” or other services.

  • LMA Recruitment does not require you to pay for training or any assessment as part of our recruitment process.
  • Do not share money, checks, or personal details for any program unless confirmed by an authorized LMA representative in person.

Issue Job Offers Without Proper Verification

Scammers may offer jobs quickly to create urgency and trick you into sharing sensitive information.

  • LMA Recruitment Singapore will never extend an offer of employment without a formal meeting with an authorized company representative.
  • All job offers are conducted through official channels, and candidates are always verified before an offer is finalized.

Red Flags to Watch For

Be cautious of unsolicited job offers or advertisements that:

  • Promise easy jobs with unusually high commissions or returns.
  • Come from unknown numbers or foreign contacts not affiliated with LMA.
  • Request fund transfers to individuals you have not met.
  • Originate from countries where LMA does not operate (LMA Recruitment only operates in Singapore and the UK).

Precautionary Steps

  • Do not accept offers that sound too good to be true.
  • Avoid downloading apps or files from unverified sources.
  • Never send money to someone you haven’t met in person.
  • Do not share personal information like passwords, OTPs, or verification codes.
  • Do not accept fake checks or money orders—banks will hold you accountable.
  • Research the employer: check if the role is advertised on our official website and verify through professional channels.
  • Do not provide anyone with:
  • Passport, NRIC, or other government-issued IDs
  • Bank account numbers
  • One-Time Passwords (OTP) or verification codes
