Underwriting & Risk Assessment:
- Underwrite all commercial lines (except Motor and Marine) in accordance with company guidelines.
- Evaluate and recommend risks beyond individual authority limit to the Head of Department.
- Review and adjust premiums, terms, and conditions for renewal business.
Business Development & Client Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with agents and clients to drive premium growth.
- Plan and conduct regular visitations to agents/clients to explore new opportunities and maintain rapport.
- Analyse agent portfolios to track performance and ensure targets are met.
Market Intelligence:
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and provide insights to the department.
Quotations & Customer Support:
- Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for agents and clients.
- Respond to client/agent inquiries on policy terms, premium rates, and coverage details in a timely manner.
- Provide support for policy issuance and endorsements, including overseeing daily operations of the Marketing Assistant.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in general insurance, preferably in underwriting capacity in Singapore Insurance market
- Must possess BCP, PGI and ComGI certificates
- Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin to liaised with Mandarin speaking clients.
- Hands on experience in servicing and underwriting commercial lines products via agency channel.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
