We’re looking for a Senior Property & Casualty (P&C) Underwriter to lead a team of underwriters and manage broker-driven business. You will assess and price commercial risks, guide your team, and build strong relationships with brokers to grow a profitable book of business.
Key Responsibilities:
Underwriting Leadership
- Underwrite complex P&C risks for new and renewal business.
- Ensure all underwriting follows company guidelines and risk appetite.
- Make sound pricing and coverage decisions to ensure portfolio profitability.
Team Management
- Lead and support a team of underwriters.
- Coach and mentor junior underwriters to improve technical skills and decision-making.
- Review and approve referrals from team members.
Broker Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key brokers.
- Negotiate terms, coverages, and pricing to win quality business.
- Represent the company in broker meetings and industry events.
Portfolio & Strategy
- Monitor portfolio performance and suggest improvements.
- Work closely with senior management to align underwriting with business goals.
- Identify market trends and new business opportunities.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in property and casualty underwriting for Singapore market
- Experience in leading underwriting teams
- Strong technical knowledge across commercial P&C lines.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to work closely with brokers and external partners.
- Degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field preferred.
- Insurance certifications (e.g. ACII, ANZIIF) a plus.
